Jakarta — On September 9, 2026, PT CITEC Engineering Indonesia (CITEC) has signed a five-year contract with PT Hamparan Mineral Energi (HME) to provide mining operations services for the SKN coal mine in East Kalimantan.
Under this agreement, CITEC is entrusted with an extensive scope within the mining operations, including overburden removal and disposal, coal mining and loading, haulage within the mine area, and supporting exploration activities. This project aims to support the client in achieving its annual coal production target of approximately 800,000 tonnes.
To carry out the project, our sister company specializing in the Mining Operation, Nanjing Mining operating under CITEC’s management will lead the day-to-day mining operations and maintenance, drawing on its experience in open-pit mining, equipment management, and operational safety. This cooperation will allow the actual showcasing of advantaged knowledge, technology and skill implementation in Indonesia, whilst still understanding on our strength in project management capabilities, effective local sourcing and coordination, in our joint effort to support the overall success of the mine.
Building on the successful operation in the bauxite mine, this project will further expand CITEC’s local mining portfolio from mineral commodities into the energy resources sector. This milestone reflects CITEC’s continued growth, adaptability, and commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable mining operations that contribute to Indonesia’s broader mining and energy ecosystem.
